University of Perpetual Help opened the NCAA Season 92 Men’s Basketball Division second round of eliminations with a commanding win over the EAC Generals, 71-59, on Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Arena, San Juan.
The win tallied as the Altas’ sixth-straight win, which gave them their eighth win in ten matches.
Team Captain Gabriel Dagangon top-billed with 18 points, while Daryl Singontiko added 17 hits for the Perpetual Altas, who is now on a two-way tie with the Arellano Chiefs in the second seed.
In addition, NCAA Season 92 All-Star MVP Bright Akhuetie delivered another double-double output of 13 points and 13 boards to help seal the win for Perpetual Help.
Coach Jimwell Gican’s wards had a sloppy start, yet managed to make up for it and led as much as 9 points to close the first half.
From then on, the Altas never looked back and further drubbed the EAC Generals until the end.
Meanwhile, Emilio Aguinaldo College drew most of its numbers from imports Sidney Onwubere and Hamadou Laminou, who both combined for 31 points, but still fell short in the end.
The Generals fell to their seventh loss in ten games this Season.
