Lyceum of the Philippines University smashed College of St. Benilde, 3-1, to stay at the second seed with 12.5 points over the weekend in the NCAA Season 92 Seniors Chess Competition held at the Jose Rizal University Gym.

In addition to Lyceum, Letran also won as the Knights overpowered Perpetual Help, 3.5-.5, to move up to third spot with 11.5 points.

Meanwhile, in the NCAA Season 92 Juniors Chess Division, the ongoing board battle was just getting tighter.

The Letran Squires blanked Perpetual Help, 4-0, on wins by Christian Mark Daluz, Melito Ocsan, Jr., Eric Robert Yap, and Alexis Anne Osena to zoom to the top with 13 points, 1.5 ahead of the San Beda Red Cubs.

San Beda lost a piece of the lead after eking out just a 2.5-1.5 win over the Arellano Braves.
