San Beda College survived a first half challenge put up by College of St. Benilde, then went on a second half surge to hammer out an 82-64 victory on Tuesday, to retain the solo lead in the NCAA Season 92 Men’s Basketball Division at the FilOil Flying V Arena, San Juan.

“We were playing sloppy at the start, but we made up for it by playing more aggressive in the defense and creating scoring chances off it”, said San Beda coach Jamike Jarin.
Cameroonian Donald Tankoua bounced back from a scoreless first half by muscling his way to 17 points in the second half alone to spark the big breakaway.
In addition, Fil-Am Davon Potts chipped in 15 points, while Dan Sara and Arnaud Noah added 11 and 10, respectively.
The Blazers went on attack mode early and dictated the pace in the first quarter and went ahead, 20-14, at the end of it.
However, the Red Lions battled back and outscored Benilde in the second, 19-9, to snatch a 33-29 edge at halftime.
From then on, Tankoua took charge and San Beda feasted on St. Benilde’s maze of turnovers to pull away.
