Teytey Teodoro proved why he is the clutch and go-to-guy of the JRU Heavy Bombers.
Teodoro dished 23 points, eight of which where unloaded in overtime to pace Jose University past an upset-filled Letran Knights, 75-68, on Tuesday in the NCAA Season 92 Men’s Basketball Division at the FilOil Flying V Arena, San Juan.
With this victory, the Heavy Bombers moved up to their sixth win in eleven matches, their third-straight win after mauling the San Beda Red Lions last week.
More so, it led the Mandaluyong-based dribblers to grab the solo fifth seed in the overall team standings.
The Letran Knights on the other hand, dropped to their fourth-straight loss.
The third-year Teodoro bombed right away in the extra session, which pushed the Heavy Bombers to a quick 8-point tally.
Letran could not get a hold of Teodoro as the latter knocked down another trey to further Coach Vergel Meneses wards at 71-66.
The Knights attempted to regain their momentum and went to star player Rey Nambatac in hopes of rekindling the lead, but Teodoro was too unstoppable in leading the Heavy Bombers to another shock victory.
Alongside Teytey Teodoro, Paolo Pontejos had his share of 16 points, while Ervin Gropse added 10 markers for the streaking JRU Heavy Bombers.
On the other hand, Rey Nambatac led with 19 points, while JP Calvo had 18 markers for the skidding Letran Knights.
